Born in 1976 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, Lisa received her BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1999.
A move to Arizona in 2001 introduced her to the sun and an expansion of her creativity as she concentrated on her oil painting technique of painting with cotton swabs and paper towels. In time she ventured to Oregon where her work began addressing religious figures she admired since her formative years in Catholic school.
Currently, Lisa's work explores the subconscious realm and our innate connection to the universe by incorporating animal lore, sacred geometry, and alchemy. Her sophisticated style encompasses religious and surreal contexts while maintaining a touch of humor and absurdity. She draws inspiration from her daily life, allowing her paintings to unfold as they may. Magical realism artists such as Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington have been influential in Lisa's development as well.
Lisa's work is widely collected and she is represented by Lanning Gallery in Sedona, Arizona.
